Design that sees the total person

A well-designed room does more than please the eye. It changes how a body moves through a day, how a nervous system settles by evening, how a family gathers without friction. At Christy Yates Interiors, we start with the person who will live or work inside a space, then build every decision outward from there.

Founder, Principal Designer

Home has always meant more to me than four walls and beautiful furniture. It is where a day gets put down at the door, where families gather, and where a child grows up remembering the light in one particular room. That belief built Christy Yates Interiors.

Before I ever chose a fabric or drew a floor plan, I spent more than twenty years in mental and public health, studying how the built environment shapes the way we think, rest, regulate stress, and recover. As a DrPH candidate researching neuroaesthetics and restorative design, I bring that same curiosity to every project: how a room feels by late afternoon, how a layout supports an already full day, and what it takes for a space to truly fit the people who use it.

Today, I lead a nationwide interior design practice creating deeply personal homes and wellness spaces designed around how people live, work, and restore.

When I am not on a job site, you will usually find me in an antique shop with my husband or on the floor with our Shih Tzu, Magic.

02

How it works

Thoughtfully designed around how people move, interact, and use the space.

What matters

A room where your shoulders drop the moment you walk through the door.

We start with you — not the room

Before we select furnishings or finishes, we take the time to understand how you live, what matters most, and how you want your home to feel.

Because great design isn't just about creating a beautiful room. It's about creating a home that supports the life unfolding within it.

Let's create a home you'll love living in.

How we work together.

Our approach starts with understanding you—your routines, your frustrations, and what isn’t working. Then we design solutions that make daily life easier and the whole home feel cohesive, thoughtful, and functional.

Here’s how it works.
